The 200 miles of beautiful and isolated coast between Los Cabos and Bahia Magdalena offer rich seamounts and marine banks for the Pacific sports and game fisherman, but without a single launching site offering beach power, water, secure parking and accommodations!
The Rancho la Aguja marine facilities are now open to sports fishermen for beach launching, retrieval, washdowns and secure storage for their marine equipment. The adjacent Playas Pacificas development offers an ideal home-base for marine activities, from kite surfing to down-rigging for marlin - together with preferred resident rates.
Rancho la Aguja, is perfectly located as a secure base for the mid-Pacific fisherman/boater:
-   easy access from Highway One and La Paz
-   a good launching beach (for boats to Super Panga weight)
-   secure storage/launch assistance
-   four major marine banks within comfortable reach for angling and diving
-   miles of open, deserted beaches to explore
-   Bahia Magdalena, an interesting bay and fly-fishing destination, is just 65kms up the coast
The secure onsite boating, shore and bluewater-fishing support facilities at Rancho la Aguja add significantly to mid-Pacific recreational access and the attraction of Playas Pacificas as a residential base for both serious and recreational anglers and boaters.
Fishing varies from fair to excellent, depending on the season, with some of the most productive offshore grounds on the Pacific side of Baja found here: world-renowned tuna grounds at the Morgan, Potato and Finger Banks, old mossyback cows out at the Lusitania Banks.
Closer to shore there are good numbers of tuna, wahoo, dorado, yellowtail, groupers and snappers. Our charter partners, Baja Adventure Company (bajaadventureco.com) and Felipe Valdez Sportfishing (felipevaldezsportfishing.com) both provide professional captains, boats, equipment, transport, meals and accommodations for multi-day charters.
Our fishing charter partner, Baja Adventure Co (bajaadventureco.com) is a well-established and popular La Paz-based group, providing charter fishing, free-diving and spearfishing packages to the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific.
Rancho la Aguja is the Pacific-side base for the Baja Adventure Company, and their charter packages include full transportation, ranch accommodation and meals.
Successful surf fishing is a skilled undertaking, and the particular love of Felipe Valdez, a professional guide with 15 years of experience in all aspects of Baja sport fishing. Son of an old Baja family who own a famous fishing resort, Felipe personally conducts small groups on single or multi-day tours, based out of Rancho la Aguja. (felipevaldezsportfishing.com)
The day's schedule is ruled by tide and sea conditions, the accommodations are simple but comfortable: tents on the beach (with hot showers/toilet). The food is superb, personally prepared by Felipe's wife Claudia, and a campfire cuts the evening Pacific chill during the winter months as the group relaxes and reviews the day. Charter packages include full transportation, ranch accommodation and meals.
