The Neighborhood

Welcome to mid-Pacific Baja
Here in the Rancho la Aguja neighborhood, the Pacific Ocean is the dominant force - its energy and sound are always with us and its breezes temper our days. Pacific beaches stretch north and south for almost 70 miles in both directions.

Inland, the neighborhood is largely uninhabited, as the rural population gradually drifts to the promise of the cities. The plains of the llanos (old sea bed) are sparsely watered, and home to vast forests of cardonales, or forests of cardon cactus with dozens of bird species, deer, badgers, gato montez, coyotes and rabbits.

All of this within an hour of La Paz.
